BLACK WATER RECAP (OF SORTS) & WINTER SABBATICAL

Hey everyone,

Just a brief post in regards to the ongoing situation with the blog. I won't often talk about myself, because this site is about Riptide and rightfully so, but on this occasion I think it's best to mention a few things up front.

Long story short (the full message is on Twitter @RiptideWresFans) - I have taken on some additional responsibilities in my personal life, which means that my time is at a real premium right now. At present we do not know when the next Riptide show is, although we are almost certain it won't be until March/April 2019. So with the promotion hibernating over the winter, it makes sense I take a sabbatical too so that I can work on other projects.

A couple of things to clarify:
We will still be active on Twitter so feel free to follow along and stay updated with Riptide content as you have done before - nothing should change there.
If there are any fan/meet-up events, whether they be official or unofficial, we will still let you guys know and work to get everyone involved as best we can.
The blog is not closed or shuttered, I fully intend to give it the attention it deserves once we enter 2019 and there is more content to discuss/promote.

I want to thank everyone at Riptide - in particular Josh and Tom, for being so generous with their time and allowing me to do create RWF with their blessing. I'd also like to thank all of the talented wrestlers and in-ring performers that we have featured on the blog so far: Danny Jones, Kurtis Chapman, Rhia O'Reilly, referee Aaren Wilde, Chuck Mambo, Spike Trivet, Candy Floss, Lord Gideon Grey, The OJMO, and Jordon Breaks - my gratitude for your time and effort cannot be understated.

Jumping back to Riptide more specifically, I thought the most recent Black Water show went really well. The idea of doing fancy dress was inspired and there were many great entries into the best costume competition - perhaps mine included (pictured). Everything seemed to run very smoothly and in general the crowd was on good form, beyond a select few who unfortunately drank a little too much and decided to make things about them. Overall, in-ring, it was a solid show, I'd say somewhere around the upper-middle spectrum of Riptide shows so far. In particular the match between 'Speedball' Mike Bailey and Cara Noir stood out as an instant promotional classic.
