BRIGHTON CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT (2-4TH AUGUST 2018) - CARD & UPDATES

As many of you will know, Riptide Wrestling is scheduled to hold their Brighton Championship Tournament from 2nd - 4th August.

 We here at Riptide Fans are obviously very excited about the crowning of the first ever promotional champion! So we implore you, if you haven't already, go get yourself tickets - its going to be a show not to be missed: https://bit.ly/2uiQOvV

 Riptide have already confirmed that it will be a 16-person knockout format. In the interests of keeping everyone up to date, here is a list of people that have qualified, followed by match-ups that have already been officially announced:

1: Candy Floss (winner of 6-person scramble @ Deep Six)

2: Kyle Fletcher (defeated Moustache Mountain and SPPT @ Brighton Spirit)

3: Mark Davis (defeated Moustache Mountain and SPPT @ Brighton Spirit)

4: Chris Brookes (winner of 6-person scramble @ Brighton Spirit)
NB: Brookes cannot compete at the BCT due to a scheduling conflict. His replacement is Jonah Rock!

5: Walter (Defeated Boar @ Spring Break)

6: Spike Trivet (Defeated Mike Bird @ Riptide Rumble)

7: Chuck Mambo (Won the Rumble @ Riptide Rumble)

8: Damon Moser (Defeated Storm & Priestley @ International Waters)

9: Chris Ridgeway (Defeated Storm & Priestley @ International Waters)

10: Charlie Morgan (Defeated Flash Morgan Webster @ International Waters)

11: Millie McKenzie (Co-winner of 8-Person Scramble @ International Waters)

NIGHT 2 - FRI 3RD AUGUST

All quarter-final matches will take place on Night Two as well as the following non-tournament bouts:

NIGHT 3 - SAT 4TH AUGUST

All semi-final matches as well as the final will take place on Night Three, alongside the following non-tournament bouts:
  • Chakara & Paul Robinson vs The Super-Brotheys (Kip Sabian & Amir Jordan)

Legendary film director Alfred Hitchcock once said "The more successful the villain, the more successful the picture" and in the realms of wrestling I can't think of a better example of this than Spike Trivet in Riptide. From the early days of the promotion Spike quickly became the most hated man in the building, mixing his questionable political beliefs with his penchant for hiring mercenaries to do his dirty work. His obsession with crushing all in his path, in particular Jack Sexsmith, has become one of the central narratives told across the Riptide catalogue so far. Well that was one hell of a weekend huh!  Riptide put on an incredible three nights of intense, action-packed, emotional, edge-of-the-seat wrestling, and we got to see the very first Brighton Champion crowned!
