RWF SPOTLIGHT: CANDY LAND

What better to get us in the mood for the Brighton Championship Tournament than a nice sugary treat, and an interview with an entrant? So we thought - why do them separately when Candy Floss combines the two so incredibly well!

Almost a year to the night she made her Riptide debut, Candy will compete for the opportunity to become the inaugural Brighton Champion. In that time she has made herself a firm fan-favourite down here on the South Coast, to the point where a Riptide show without her just doesn't feel quite the same.

We chatted to Miss Floss to get the low-down on how she stays so sweet outside the ring, but can be so kick-ass once she's inside! Hope you all enjoy...

RWF: As one of the fastest-rising stars of the British Wrestling scene many people will be familiar with your work, but how would you describe yourself and your style to someone new to the world of Wrestling?

My Wrestling character is called Candy Floss. She loves anything cute and of course sweets. However, she’s not at sweet as she seems because she’ll do anything she can to rip her opponents arm apart, and tap them out with the Candy Cane arm-bar.

RWF: What made you decide to become a Wrestler, and what was the first step you took on that path?

I first wanted to be a professional Wrestler when I was 11 years old. When I was 15, I found a Wrestling school which was run by Progress (known as the Projo) and started training there.

RWF: The Riptide fans seem to have adopted you as one of their own. Is there anything in particular that you look forward to about coming down to Brighton or performing in front of the Riptide crowd?

Brighton is honestly my favourite place in the UK. There’s sweet shops everywhere! The Brighton crowd are amazing as well! Always supportive and super sweet! There’s a lady who always brings me so much Pocky! She’s the sweetest person ever!
(Editors Note: Shout-out to Nanat)

RWF: What are your ambitions and goals going forward, whether it be in the near or distant future?

I have many goals with Wrestling. One of them was to go to Japan and I ticked that box! I’d like to win the Riptide and Progress women’s belt one day! Also I want to wrestle for the WWE one day too.

RWF: If you could give one piece of advice - whether it be to aspiring Wrestlers, people in the industry already, or even the fans – what would you say?

The advice I’d give to aspiring wrestlers is to always train and work hard! I spent so many hours training at the Projo - it was like my second home!
