Someone who undoubtedly has the potential to go far both in Riptide and other promotions is The O.J.M.O.
Over the Brighton Championship tournament weekend we saw just how good The O.J.M.O. can be, as he qualified for the tournament proper with a pre-show victory over Sid Scala, Mauro Chaves and Jordan Breaks in a back-and-forth four-way battle.
Unfortunately, his run ended there as Spike Trivet (the scoundrel) capitalised on the fact The O.J.M.O. had just competed in a truly grueling bout - by calling him out immediately and snatching the victory.
Despite the defeat, the manner of how it unfolded and the heart The O.J.M.O. showed, left many wondering if the result may have been different had the playing field been level.
We caught up with him recently to find out a little bit more about the man, the myth, the future legend - The O.J.M.O.
NOW WE PLAY!

RWF: As one of the most exciting young talents on the British Wrestling scene many people will be familiar with your work, but how would you describe yourself and your style to someone new to the world of wrestling?
Ah man, to be honest, that's something I'm still trying to figure out myself! I'd say The O.J.M.O is about 80% me and 20% who I want to be. I'm a performer at heart, and I think that comes off when I wrestle, when I walk to the ring, when I pick up a microphone - sometimes the confidence I have conspires against me to get me into more I can handle, but I also think that's what's helped me get to where I am in my career at the moment. Oh and I might fly, but I'm not a high-flyer.
RWF: What made you decide to become a wrestler, and what was the first step you took on that path?
It's something I've always dreamed about doing my entire life and finally got sick of only dreaming about doing, while working at the Burger King on North Street…in Brighton. I sent out a couple “feelers” to training schools around that time and I ended up choosing to train at the Knucklelocks Gym (FKA Progress Wrestling School Projo) in January of 2017, trained primarily by Darrell Allen and James Davis. And I still, of course, train there now!
RWF: You made it into the Brighton Championship Tournament and gave a great account of yourself. Is there anything in particular that you look forward to about wrestling in Brighton or performing in front of the Riptide crowd?
That's just it - wrestling in Brighton is what I look forward to the most when coming to wrestle in Brighton for Riptide. It being a city I've spent a lot of time in and being the city that I was in when I made my decision to pursue wrestling makes every trip down very special for me. To have 3 matches in Brighton over Pride weekend - 2 of which being the 1st two matches of the entire weekend - will be something I'll never forget. I want more though.
RWF: What are your ambitions and goals going forward in wrestling, whether it be in the near or distant future?
Working to put on size is my main goal, second only to just getting better at wrestling! My long-term goal is quite simply to earn a living solely on wrestling - be it with a contract or without.
RWF: If you could give one piece of advice - whether it be to aspiring wrestlers, people in the industry already, or even the fans – what would you say?
To aspiring wrestlers - don't be an idiot, listen and learn at every opportunity, STUDY wrestling and be a nice person. And to the fans, and I believe this is tremendously important - keep supporting independent wrestling. That's the only way the scene will continue to thrive.
